Apple Buys Maker of Fast Chips, Intrinsity.

Apple has bought another chip maker Intrinsity in the event of gaining an edge over its competitors with the fastest mobile chip.

Apple has acquired a small Austin, Tex., company called Intrinsity, known for making zippy versions of a computer chip often found in mobile devices. The deal, which closed late last month and was confirmed by Apple on Tuesday, shows the company continuing to try to gain an edge in the mobile device market by purchasing technology and chip experts.
It is the second time in two years that Apple has purchased a small chip company to gain critical technology for making a faster processor that uses less energy.

Western Digital-WD yesterday(9th/September/2009) announced that it had commenced the shipment of its 9.5 mm high, 2.5-inch notebook hard drive with 640 GB capacity. The WD Scorpio(R) Blue(TM) 640 GB hard drives utilize 320 GB-per-platter technology and are designed for mainstream notebook computers.
The WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB is the highest capacity 2.5-inch hard drive available today in the industry-standard 9.5 mm, 2-disk form factor.

Microsoft announces a new LifeCam called ‘Cinema’

Microsoft annouced a new webcam dubbed as "cinema". The LifeCam (also known as the Cinema) can shoot in HD resolution with 720p (1280 x 720 at 30 frames per second). It can record video footage a little better than the average, run-of-the-mill webcams that you can get at your local Wal-Mart.
