Lenovo reveals ThinkCentre A63 Desktop suitable for SMBs

Lenovo announced it's new ThinkCentre A63 desktop, an essential desk side companion for small-to-medium businesses (SMB). The new desktop combines powerful productivity features such as Lenovo’s Enhanced Experience for Windows 7 for blazing fast boot-up time and choices for the latest AMD Sempron™ processors, AMD Athlon™ II processors and AMD Phenom™ II processors, all at an affordable price tag starting at $329.

Power-Saving iCT tech for TFT-LCD TVs and Monitors

Himax Technologies announced the introduction of iCT (Infinity Color Technology), an innovative and proprietary image processing technology which enables significant power saving for TFT-LCD TVs and monitors, regardless of CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) or LED (Light-Emitting Diode) backlights, while enhancing image quality.
This technology developed by Himax Media solutions, a Himax subsidiary, the innovative iCT is a unique and cost-effective approach in optimizing power efficiency and image quality.

The Ten types of computers

1. Supercomputer
This type of computer usually costs hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. Although some supercomputers are single computer systems, most are comprised of multiple high performance computers working in parallel as a single system. The best known supercomputers are built by Cray Supercomputers.

2. Minicomputer
Another term rarely used anymore, minicomputers fall in between microcomputers (PCs) and mainframes (enterprise servers). Minicomputers are normally referred to as mid-range servers now.

A new personal supercomputer (Octane III) from SGI

SGI today showcased  it's new Octane III, the company's newly announced personal supercomputer for high-performance computing (HPC) in office environments, and CloudRack C2.

SGI Showcased its supercomputer at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2009 from September 22 - 24 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
